Christine Falls

I have been told to read books by John Banville. This one, "Christine Falls," is the first one that I have read. Banville writes under the nom de plum of Benjamin Black. This novel is a mystery. A young lady, Christine Falls, dies in Dublin. Her death puzzles a pathologist--Quirke. Things get atmospheric, compelling, and fairly odd after that. Like a good joke the plot seems obvious only after the whole thing is over. Wonderfully written, absolutely worth reading.
