"Manplus" Frederik Pohl 1976

An interesting and very readable book about altering a human to survive without a space suit on the surface of Mars. Many of the topics, such as climate catastrophe and associated breakdown of society, are timely now. The characters are realistic and not cutouts. Especially fascinating to me are the thoughts of the man while being turned into a cyborg that can survive on Mars.
